I'm back...and this is gorgeous!

It's been a long time...

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,

I know it's been a long time. My personal life has been very busy. We've worked on our shed, painted our son's room, and done much cleaning over the past few weeks.

Yesterday was the first time I'd painted my nail in weeks.  Can you believe it?

But I'm back...

Tonight's design is a base of Rimmel Gold Silk.  Then a little stamping...FAB FUN2...the little Indian.

For those of you who know me personally...you know...I'm Native American...so I thought this was cute!

I'm back...and crazier than ever.

Have my weekend planned...starting with Maifest...which is a little festival in Covington Kentucky. Good eats...good music and lots of crafters and fun.

SO....to prep...I basecoated Finger Paints Micheltangelo...then I got out my new FAB UR NAILs FUN2 plate...and did some gold stamping.

A little pirate gold anyone?

It feels good for the weekend and fun...but a minor error...I got top coats on...and cuticle oil on and realized my right pointer finger had no stamping...oh well...it was fun! (see big shoulder shrug here)

Orly Crush on You with M72 Glitz Stamping: Glitzy Daisys

So I hit the clearance section at Sally Beauty Supply. Score...some odd colors.

I found Orly Crush on You and Orly Glitz...I thought they'd be great to try with stamping together.
So...I got out my m72 plate...and used Glitz to stamp on Orly Crush on you.
This is 3 coats of Orly Crush on you...which is still very much see through...but the colors are definitely Spring/Summer bright.

I also trimmed down my nails as you can see....they were getting excessively long and I was starting to stab myself with them constantly.  This is also an easier length to play guitar or drum!!!

Dark Shadows was a hoot Friday night with my girls...there are some great movies out there to see.  Dark Shadows and Avengers.

Zoya Blogger Collection

I got in my Zoya Blogger Collection last week...but I didn't get to test it out until tonight.

It is fabulous! Spread on like a dream...and the color is gorgeous...gelish! I used Zoya Kate for this design.

So...to add a little finesse...a little bit of black stamping with RA-102 image plate.

As you can see...I did pretty good with the stamping and it looked fabulous...until I put in my Seche UltraV.

The middle finger stayed perfect...but the other two smudged...and this was the good hand.

All that stamping practice...and the top coat ruined it.  It still looks gorgeous to the naked eye!  

Get yourselves ready...I'm trying to come up with something cool for Dark Shadows night with my girlfriends on Friday night.  All girl night...with drinks at the VIP section in the theatre...can't wait!

My Boyfriend Scales Walls with Migi Flowers

I'm back...and soon so will the Spiderman reboot.

Sorry for the absence...I got extremely ill this weekend...on my 4 day weekend of course...but I am back to almost full functioning human now.

So...my Spidey collection came in.  And first out of the hatch is OPI My Boyfriend Scales walls.

Love the color...but yikes it was streak.  Not a great start...but we'll give a chance.  Took about four coats to make it presentable.

So...I wanted to continue trying out the Migi nail art pens.

Still not as happy as I should be with them.  The squeezing can cause air bubbles...and it might spurt out...or not come out at all at various intervals.  Cap it...swing it...try again...still issues.

So...here is the final result for tonight's performance.

Marvel's Avengers Marathon

Since tomorrow is the Marvel's Avenger Marathon...and I will be seeing the Avengers 12:01am showing on Friday.  I thought an Avenger's tribute was worthwhile.

The Great Wall of China

Well...today is the first day of Laboratory Week.

So...my work is doing a tribute to the Great Wall of China...since we have a partner lab in China.

I used that as my motivation for tomorrow's nails.

NYC Cashmere with Migi nail art pens

Well...it's Sunday night and what a weekend.  I actually got up and belted out some Pat Benatar's "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" at Bellevue Eagles karaoke on Friday night.  Might have had too many margaritas and beers.

But...funny enough...not really a hangover...just a headache on Saturday.  We slept in way too late...but my daughter and her boyfriend came over today and he helped my hubby work in the yard.

It was a nice Sunday with the kids...she's got her 1st 12 hour shift tomorrow...and he's started working 65 hours a week.  I'm hoping the motivation stays with them...because outlook is good!

So...after relaxing this evening and visiting with my BFF Kelly...I finally got around to my nails.

Tonight...I tried out NYC Cashmere...and my new Migi nail art pens.

I purchased them Saturday at Sam's Club.  We just joined as members...and they had a salesperson at a sample counter with them.  So I picked up the primary colors.

Here's my first playing with them.

As you can see...I just started with a basic flower design.  The yellow and green worked pretty good...but the pink...was a little too runny.  I think I'll try again...and see how it goes next time.  I'm not sure if I fully recommend them yet to anyone!

Llarowe: Ludurana Aurora Boreal with Black Stamping

So...the nails seem to be getting shorter and shorter.  I've acquired the curse of split nails.

Even though I've cuticle creamed them, been taking vitamins and fish oil, my nails seem to acquired the curse of splitting.

My thumbnail split in a new spot this afternoon and this morning while dressing, my middle finger on my right hand lost a big hunk of nail off the corner.

I'm hoping this is the last of these catastrophes for a while...but cross your fingers for me.

Today...my Llarowe arrived.  I was soo excited to see my buys...I had to just try one out tonight.

So...Ludurana Aurora Boreal it is...I just love the shimmer and changes in the color in the light.  To make it  even more interesting...I added black stamping for RA-106 plate.

Buried Alive

So...Orly Dark Shadows Buried Alive it is...wanted to try another color from this collection.  I loved...loved...loved the Grave Mistake.  Did not like Mysterious Curse.

Buried Alive...is much better, although it's 2 coats for good coverage.

Wanted to jazz it up...so Using RA-114 plate...with Orly Coffee Break:

Definitely abstract and pretty neat.

Anyone out there got the Dark Shadows collection yet?  I'm pretty pleased so far...one more to test!!!

Mysterious Curse

Sorry for the delay, but I had technical difficulty last night on so many levels.
First of all...if you hadn't heard...I broke both my thumbnails. The left hand pretty severely.  So...I spent most of the evening fixing it with a teabag and superglue.  Then...I just started checking out my nails and decided I would trim them down.  Well the full process for that is time consuming.

So then I figured why not use one of the Orly Dark Shadows colors again since I liked Grave Mistake soo much.

I chose Mysterious Curse.  Do not like the formula on this one.  It was chunky and streaky.  When it finally dried...a day later it is now readily chipping and scuffing even with Seche Ultra-V topcoat.

So...here it is...

I added a little skull and crossbones...with silver stamping using plate SH02.  Just so that it is hard to see in certain lights...it adds to the mystery.

No mystery here...not my favorite polish. Was not anything like Grave Mistake which went on fabulously and stayed on well!

So...there are my significantly shorter nails...and I have a teabag patch on  my thumbnail!!!  Oh well...they need to be shorter since I am travelling next week...and without fail...my nails break when I travel, you know...picking up luggage...buckling airplane belts!

Designer De Better

Hello Friends,
  Well...I had all day to do my nails.  Instead I did laundry.  Then I finally got up the nerve and attempted another water marble.  What a horror again!


So...I fell back on an old favorite.

This is OPI's Designer De Better with RA110 in Black!  Then a little square rhinestone for accent.

What fun!

Dew thinks it looks good...and I really liked it!  So...Sunday Stamping! Check!

Franken-time

I'm soo excited!  Got my first Franken...polish in my nail mail!  Hufflepolish...sent me Maleficent.

And to boot...I ordered the medallion to match!

I love it...it's night so it kind of hard to see the glitter effect in the black base...but I can't wait for the morning to check it out!

Isn't it just gorgeous!  I'm very pleased....so check her polishes out on Etsy.  I love that I could order the medallion to go with!  Waiting to see these out in the sunlight tomorrow!  Have a fun Saturday night...I know I will!

MichelTangelo....BIG MISTAKE

Hi friends...well I had a busy evening.  I stopped at Sally and at Walgreens...got a few polishes!

One of my scores was FingerPaints Michel Tangelo.

So...I put that on...with China Glaze Matte Magic on the tips. Didn't like it that much...so added a line of gold.  Just am not impressed with the polish...would have been better if I'd just left it as MichelTangelo.

So....I got to use...my other...purchase tonight from the clearance bin at Walgreens.

Glitter Time

So...I found all these acrylic nail designs that have glittery tips...and I thought...just because I have natural nails...doesn't mean I can't have some fun.

So, I started with OPI I Lily Love You....which is a gorgeous pink jelly with iridescent glitter.  I french tipped it many times....read: had to fix it multiple times.

Then after it dried...I used Confetti (from Forever XXI) in 005 Ice Ice Baby.

So then I had Family Dollar Nailene adhesives I'd picked up for a dollar last week.

So...put them on my ring fingers, pointers, and thumbs!

Kind of a fun...very Girly Glitter Time!

Not my normal kind of nail....but it was fun playing with I Lily Love You.

Until tomorrow...when I'll probably be cursing the decision to go glittery today!  He He He.

OPY NYC Ballet You Callin' Me A Lyre with M80 Stamping

So...my OPI NYC Ballet colors finally arrived.  They were my little Easter present to myself.

So...I started by playing with You Callin' Me A Lyre.  Then my Kaynig plate arrived and I used the central design of M80 with silver stamping.

It's very subtle...but great for a morning that starts with web conferences.

This is a gorgeous jelly...and I can't wait to experiment with it more.  

Julep Charlotte with a White Lady Bug

Well...I'm thinking of my wonderful sister in law Charlotte tonight.  She has to get all the way through tomorrow before she gets the latest results on her MRI back Weds.

So...in honor of my lady bug...

The purple base is Julep's Charlotte...with BM13 plate for the ladybug...

I admit...did not do a great job of placement...but aren't they cute!  Sis (aka Charlotte), call me as soon as you hear, toes and fingers are pedicured and crossed!!!

A Bit Blue

Well, hello friends and readers,
   It was wonderful having a 3 day weekend.  We ran most of Friday and Saturday but today, Easter, has been a lazy day.  I even got a nap!

We had pork chops and slow cooked green beans and red potatoes and glazed carrots for dinner. Delicious.

So...I'm a bit blue...having to go back to the grindstone...so to express my feelings....

Cincinnati Reds Opening Day 2012

Well Peeps...tomorrow should be exciting.  It is Opening Day for Cincinnati Reds.  Josh Hutcherson will be there to throw out the first ball...so all you Hunger Games enthusiasts...that means Peeta is in the 'Nati!

So...I started with this gorgeous red from Wet 'n Wild called Red Red:

Then I added the Reds Logo...for just a little fun on the accent nail.  Yikes it wasn't easy...but it is cute!

In other exciting news...my UV lamp arrived today!  I am so excited...with 3 minutes for each hand...these designs are rock solid now.  I'm using Seche UltraV.  So...any special ideas for tomorrow night.  Friday is PTO...so I am gonna have some fun!  How about you all...any special nail plans or non-work day plans for Friday???

Easter Purple

So...with a little OPI Done Out in Deco...I then used CH11 plate...for the netting. I tried to do a yellow ducky from Konad M1.  Then tried it in Black.  Wasn't too happy with it...so did tips in Milani Tru Passion.  Happy Easter Prepping...half way thru my work week.

French tips with Black Butterflies

A little something springy...that's what I thought would do great for today:

 

So...I did a basic french tip...then added black butterflies using Red Angel 119 ( I think!)

I think it turned out cute.

I also...soaked my nails...in water with denture cleaner tablets for about 15 minutes...that worked pretty good...but I still have some yellowing from all the nail polish use!

So...this week coming up...more Easter/Spring....Reds Opening Day!

Easter Chicks

Well...I wanted to try a little something for Easter.  Saw this design...by the Urban Sweetheart on Youtube...thought I'd try it!.  It is supposed to look like cracked eggs...and a little chick hatchling.  It actually came out pretty good...especially the chick hatchling.

 

But...there is always a but isn't there?  I smudged the cracked eggs on my hand.  3 nails...major dents about 45 minutes after my nails were done.  So obviously...very thick and should have let it dry longer between coats!

So...I took them off...and today...my nails are *GASP* ...."Bare"...which actually means...OPI nail envy with a base coat!!!
